Quizlet is where a lot of vocab sets already live. The gap shows up the night before a test: the cards are in one app, and the essay, the lab, and the rest of the week are in another. Without Quizlet Plus, Test itself is also capped.
TalonTodo keeps study sets next to the assignment list. Test, Learn, Match, Written, and Mixed run with no per-set cap and no per-day cap on the free plan. The account is free to open at app.talontodo.com/register.
What Quizlet publishes
From Studying on Quizlet and Studying with Test, checked 10 October 2026:
- Someone who is not a Quizlet Plus subscriber can use one practice test per flashcard set in Test.
- Learn is described as a limited number of rounds. Quizlet does not publish that count, so this page does not invent one.
- The non-subscriber tools are the $0 tier.
Quizlet does not plan the homework those cards belong to. The due date still has to live somewhere else.
What you can run on TalonTodo
| Quizlet, not Plus | TalonTodo free | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $0 | $0 |
| Practice test | One Test per set | Test, Learn, Match, Written, and Mixed, with no per-set cap |
| Assignment list | No | Classes, due dates, and reminders |
| Shared classwork | Sets can be shared | Groups have no member cap, and study sets can be shared with classmates |
The study modes come from TalonTodo's own free-tier check: creating a session does not look at a subscription, and it does not count down a daily quota.
When Quizlet is still the right set
Use Quizlet if the only job is a deck you already have there, and one Test per set is enough. Moving cards for its own sake is not the point.
Use a combined app if you are rebuilding the deck and the week's due dates every Sunday. The assignment side is A Free Assignment Tracker for Students. How the free tiers compare across planners is The Best Free Student Planner Apps in 2026.
